Most of Gareth's time in this role was spent designing, developing and testing software upgrades to CSCI level components within the TDS of the Seahawk. Each component comprised of a separate real-time embedded software system. His most notable achievement was the software interfacing of a FLIR to the Seahawk’s TDS in a fast-track exercise following the events of September 11, 2001.As a secondary role, Gareth provided system administration support to the chief network administrator, ensuring the local AWSC network remained operational and assisted with hardware support, troubleshooting and maintenance of all computers.
