My role involves maintaining our e-commerce websites (built with WordPress & WooCommerce), content creation (for web, social media, email marketing and print), project planning (with a focus on planning our marketing efforts, promotions and launching new products), printed packaging, branding, email marketing and more.The main focus of my role here is to provide support for our marketing efforts, graphic design (including product packaging design, as well as digital and physical promotional material) and e-commerce management. This involves providing creative content for use in our email marketing campaigns (using Mailchimp, Klaviyo & Brevo), planning our marketing strategy (including research and analysis, brand management and creation of brand guidelines), planning promotions and managing all 4 of our e-commerce websites. My role also covers planning projects for new products (including designing and sourcing printed packaging) and helping the team here with technical support. I’m passionate about the creative process, having focused on graphic design for the first ten years of my career, I have in-depth knowledge of the design process from ideation to final delivery, whether print or digital. I was responsible for updating and maintaining product packaging artwork for Norbrook and external customers both locally and internationally. I worked with external print suppliers to ensure artwork files were in the correct format and met the technical specifications of each supplier. I was responsible for setting up templates for new products, that were then used by the rest of the artwork department to allow them to set up artwork for external customers internationally. This involved allowing the room required for multiple languages, and ensuring the files were 100% correct before they were rolled out internationally.I also worked closely with the HR department, providing internal promotional materials such as leaflets and newsletters for internal events, as well as employee handbooks and informational posters.I used Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign in order to carry out Artworking tasks. For Buisiness admin, we made use of the full Microsoft Office suite, including word (for packaging text), excel (for informational purposes), Access (to run artwork reports and keep up to date with orders that requried new packaging) and Microsoft Sharepoint (to keep records of each job undertaken and what stage it was at). At Johston Press Ireland, I was part of a the page assembling team, laying out content for newspaper pages for over 20 titles across the north and south of Ireland. Some titles included the Belfast Newsletter, Portadown Times, Lurgan Mail and the Limerick Leader. This role involved working to strict press deadlines, and working to a shift pattern in order to ensure all publications met those deadlines. This role involved working to strict press deadlines, and working to a shift pattern in order to ensure all publications met those deadlines. I worked with multiple newspaper editors across the country in order to layout each page according to the content planned by the editor, ensuring all copy aligned with the newspapers overall style, and the correct images and captions were used with the correct copy, if images were needed. I was required to have a detailed knowledge of the font and layout styles for each newspaper and layout each page according to these styles.We worked with Adobe InDesign alongside proprietary software which was designed to allow the quick organisation of each page in each title, and allow proof readers to mark pages for print when ready. I was also involved in design and layout of special news supplements, such as tv listings, christmas specials and advertorials.
