I have undertaken numerous roles that have required me to show good communication skills whether as FOH at the Underbelly Southbank or Spielgeltent at Christmas in Leicester Square working on the Briefs show. Here I had to liase with the FOH managers and Box Office Team to ensure a smooth Ingress to all shows. This was in person and over the radio.My role as Box Office Assistant at the Southwark Playhouse involves the ability to use the Oscar booking system when selling tickets in person and over the phone. I was able to continue the role during Lockdown when refunding or rebooking tickets for cancelled shows. When the theatre reopened for a sell out run in November 2020 I was able to ensure customers safety and well being when they returned to the theatre in a new flexible covid role. Ensuring maximum covid procedures were in place and customer enjoyment. Answering questions and concerns both via email or on the day of the performances. This required a team effort from myself and other members of the theatre team.As a Visitor Services Assistant at the Roundhouse I ensure customers are aware of shows contents and venue regulations .I have learned to access the Tessitura booking system when selling tickets in the Box Office and using the seat maps etc. to get customers the best seats. I have also taken roles in the ticketing department for when the Roundhouse needed extra support during big on sales. This was selling over the phone.I like to think that I have a good sense of customer care and treat every customer I engage with in a positive and polite manner. I keep in the back of my mind that this may be the first time at a venue or indeed purchasing tickets. A sense of humour and helpful manner at all times are important for me. And if there are problems then I try to resolve them in line with the venues regulations and abilities. Recently at a venue an issue arose with a person who had booked a standing ticket but had suffered an accident and required a seat. I was able to liaise with the box office mangers and organise seats for a sold out show. I work well as part of a team and with all people. This could be in a team setting in a box office situation or in a school setting. During my time working on Hair I was solely responsible on shift for stock counts, stocktaking and cashing up card machines and cash at the end of the day. I liaised with management to ensure stock was replenished from a warehouse and so had plenty of all items to sell the next day. I am aware of Health and Safety issues at the venues I work and volunteer in.
