Currently, I am the Technical Director at Frame Labs, a Perth-based virtual reality company developing exciting projects for entertainment and training.From 2005 until 2014 I was the Technical Director at Raging Pixel Productions.During that time I worked on a wide variety of diverse and fascinating projects including TV commercials, planetarium and stereoscopic IMAX films, mobile phone content, mining visualisations, short animated films, documentaries, real-time 3d projects, and feature film visual effects.Before joining Raging Pixel, I headed up the 3d department at the Film and Television Institute (www.fti.asn.au). As department head, I not only delivered 3d training as part of the accredited Diploma of Screen (Animation) courses but also coordinated the Centre for Advanced Digital Screen Animation (CADSA)Over the last 16 years, I have also lectured in 3d animation at the WA School of Art Design and Media (WASADM), West Coast College of TAFE (Joondalup) as well as private tutoring.Besides my work with Raging Pixel and teaching experiences, I have also worked as a freelance designer, animator and programmer for several multimedia, animation, and film companies (See 'Employment' below)In past years several of my animated short films have won or been nominated for awards. My 2003 short film, 'Kitty Wake Up!', netted both the Best Animation and Best Animator awards at the 17th Annual WA Screen Awards. Subsequent films 'Last Memories' and 'Cotton Tales' were nominated at the 2004 Australia Effects and Animation Festival and 3rd place in the People's Choice Award at the 19th Annual WA Screen Awards, respectively.Today I am keenly interested in all facets of digital media – be it in fleshing out captivating stories, creating exciting concepts and designs or in the actual production work within a project.
