In this role I built on the knowledge and experience gained in my previous position, taking ownership of the management of the overall data processing and distribution infrastructure in addition to providing diagnostic and operational support to a variety of high profile clients of the content generated at Formula One events.As well as requiring a deep understanding of the data acquisition, processing, and distribution chain for all data streams and services produced during a Formula One event; including: Official and Live Timing Data - https://www.formula1.com/en/f1-live.html, positioning and live car performance data, audio & video streams, historic and statistical information, and any required replay and testing functionality, this role also demanded an ability to work well under pressure, provide effective liaison between the stakeholders, management, and clients.Key Responsibilities:• Primary user and key knowledge base of critical-path data acquisition, processing, and delivery systems and services, across multiple sites.• Commissioning, operation, fault-finding, and error diagnosis of these systems across a complex ecosystem.• Overseeing the development of upgrades to systems, including planning integration with existing, and legacy systems and technologies, and associated risks to provide zero down-time to mission critical services.• Liaising with external suppliers and customers and coordinating with developers to ensure any service transitions were seamless and did not impact the wider operation, ensuring service delivery, customer experience, and brand image were key in decision making process. • Continual Improvement to systems and protocols, pushing for more effective processes to enhance service provision• Developing the official Formula 1 Results Archive - https://www.formula1.com/en/results/archive-1950-2016.html
Race Systems Operator
Responsible for operation, development and maintenance of timing and data feed systems, as well as critical on track display and signalling systems.While in this role I strove to build my position within the company through learning the detail of the myriad integrated systems and processes used in the production of a Formula One event, becoming a key resource in the development and testing of new and upgraded systems. Key Responsibilities:• Primary function was the operation and maintenance of the Official Timing and Positioning systems in the live environment, requiring precision, accuracy, attention to detail, focus, and professionalism in a high-profile, live production environment. • This role required a broad appreciation of the sporting and technical rules of the sport, and an understanding of how they translate to real-world events that may apply to the system being managed; in cases of penalties being applied for example, as well as a technological appreciation of how the systems being operated fit into the chain of live TV and event production.• Managing the logistics and maintenance of technical equipment used on-site, requiring a hands-on approach to mechanical and electronic components.

Once engaged I quickly found that I was able to apply skills and experience from my work in Formula One to the role and vice versa; improving my communication, operational and team development knowledge.
