Working within the Pipelay Cad Group as both CAD Supervisor and Project Draughtsman my duties included: Estimating manhours, resource coordination, planning and scheduling. Developing preliminary MDR’s for Bids, studies and new projects. Checking the accuracy and technical adequacy of design drawings, MTOs and interfaces with other disciplines & supplier documentation. Ensuring CAD Office production and quality is in compliance with company & project standards within the Pipelay CAD Group.As Project Draughtsperson performing general draughting activities related to pipeline and subsea engineering. Assisting Senior Project Draughtsmen on large projects and responsible for all drawing deliverables on a smaller projects, Bids & studies. Preparing and assisting in the preparation of detailed drawings of field layouts, approach details and subsea intervention works. Structural drawings for subsea structures and foundations, spools and risers, with transport and installation storyboards. Deck mobilisation plans for Reel, Umbilical & DEH cable lay, SAT diving spreads including golden gate calculation sheets, and vessel upgrades for drill rig installation with sea fastening details and material take off.Projects included ASP Geotech Survey, Shah Deniz Phase 2, PERLA, CRX EMDL, and Hejre Development Project. Bids & studies included Nord Stream Repair, Edradour, Banda Gas Development and TransCanada

A twelve month secondment on-board the Castoro 7 Pipelay Barge as one of two draughtsmen working back to back. Working directly with the Superintendent and Field Engineers reviewing project documents, design & development of installation aids and ensuring the integration of project requirements with vessel production systems. Working with the Captain and Chief Engineer preparing approach layouts, anchor patterns, berthing & mooring plans, detail design drawings for maintenance and vessel upgrades. The role also involved the implementation of company drafting standards to maintain a consistent set of Vessel Asset and Production Plant systems drawings for vessel certification and audit. Assisting the QA/QC Inspectors conducting as-built surveys, developing cutting templates, joint prep. & welding detail sketches.

Performing general draughting activities related to pipeline and subsea engineering comprising field layouts, approach details, protection details, and subsea intervention works. Structural engineering activities included subsea structures and foundations, spools, clamps, deck mobilisation plans and sea fastening details with material take off and C of G calculations. Projects included Gudrun Oil & Gas Export Lines (Statoil), Scott OE Replacement Pipeline (Nexan), York Development Project (Centrica), Castor UGS Project, K4Z Subsea Protection Frame (Total) and Castoro Sei Maintenance following NordStream.

Preparing general arrangement, sections, elevations, structural and reinforced concrete details for a multi-storey mixed use developments of retail & residential buildings across London. The role also involved maintaining cad standards and document control. Structural Systems are a specialist design and installation contractor for post-tension concrete structures, and part of the PC Harrington Group.

Projects included Cabot House (UK Environment Agency Headquarters) and ND3, Temple Quay. Cabot House was mixed use development of offices, retail, residential and public parking in the centre of Bristol. The build combined conventional RC frame, steelwork using cellform beams and PT slabs. I was involved in the preparation and checking of structural 3d models, general arrangement, PT layouts and steelwork details, duties also included design coordination with the Architect and Services Engineers, document control and overall CAD management for the project. Other projects include Buildings 5 & 6 Harbourside, ND3 & 4 Temple Quay, Bath Southgate, Brunel Academy and Whitefield School for BSF.

Primarily involved with Paddington Academy & the Millennium Dome Arena projects, preparing general arrangement, steelwork & RC details. Duties also include design coordination, production of 3d models for project proposals and dealing with technical queries from site. Other projects at Buro Happold’s included Lansdowne Road Stadium, Arsenal Stadium: Northern Triangle and the Orion Laser Facility.

Principally worked on the Bristol Schools PFI project for HBG Construction. Involved in the preparation of general arrangement and steelwork details, duties also include design coordination with architectural and services subcontractors, dealing with on site queries, document control and overall CAD management for the project.

Working as cad coordinator in a multi displinary environment within the superstructure and roof design teams of the Satellite 1 (T5B) project of Terminal 5. This includes the preparation and checking of structural 3d models, general arrangement, steelwork and RC details. Other duties include design coordination and clash detection with architectural and services teams, dealing with technical queries from site, preparation of presentations and animations, the development of cad standards and document control. Other projects on Terminal 5 include the Core Terminal Building, both superstructure and roof teams, the Energy Centre and the new Air Traffic Control Tower (VCR).

Working on the Dartford River crossing preparing RC details for deck replacement work within the tunnels.

Preparing substructure GA’s and RC details, and superstructure GA’s and steelwork details as well as architectural plans and elevations on the DS5 project Canary Wharf (45 Storey Office Structure) and WS9 (Westferry Circus 9 storey terraced structure). Duties also included client liaison with architect & mechanical engineers, document control & checking.
