BBSRC funded research associate analysing the alternatively spliced isoforms of Protein 4.1 with the aim of delineating the functional domain characteristics of that protein. Discovered the existence of isoforms lacking a spectrin actin binding domain which was considered to be a defining role for the protein prior to this.

NIH funded research associate studying the role of ceramide signalling in the cell survival pathway of neuronal and oligodendrogliomal tumour derived cell-lines. The aim is to identify points in this signalling pathway that may be favourable for the development of therapies for neurodegenerative diseases.
