This position is responsible for providing a centre of excellence for strategic leadership on climate-related matters across Woodside globally, which present material opportunities and risks to Woodside’s business strategy. Lastly, the role builds strategic alliances with customers at a senior leadership level on climate change and the energy transition, including marketing, new energy and customer strategies.

Initially, this role was part of a team running a value diagnostic on the multi-billion dollar portfolio of the Australian Operating Unit (AOU). The results provided the key insights and opportunities for growing the AOU's portfolio value, as well as the ways of working required to achieve this growth, all in service of defining Woodside's future operating model. The core role involves co-ordinating the AOU's integrated business planning process, which involves developing the strategy and 5-year business plan, building the long-term forecast for the AOU assets to end-of-field life (production, costs, value), as well as leading the AOU's annual update to the Woodside Board. This involves coordinating inputs from across the assets, production forecasting, commercial, and finance teams, as well as other key business functions (production, projects, etc.) that support the AOU. In addition, this role was involved in shaping the AOU technology plan and strategy, which highlighted the AOU's key strategic imperatives to drive Woodside's growth, and provide the link to the technology opportunities that will deliver the AOU's business plan.

An advisory role for the SVP Browse during the Browse FLNG project, as well as the subsequent development recycle. This involved being responsible for the delivery of the Browse Business Unit's business plan and strategy, corporate reporting, including Board and Executive Committee (ExCom) papers, business proposals, as well as generating CEO and ExCom briefing notes required in association with the Browse development. Furthermore, the role included being the secretary of the Browse Joint Venture Operating and Steering Committees. During the project recycle (post the decision not to proceed with the FLNG development in March 2016), was heavily involved in forming and developing a combined and co-located Joint Venture team (Shell, BP, MIMI and PetroChina) focused on selecting a globally competitive development concept. Additional responsibilities included planning and managing the leadership performance program (e.g. organising strategy and alignment sessions/workshops) for the Browse Leadership Team, and being the conduit between Browse and the corporate strategic planning leadership team.

Overview of the SSDM: Oil and gas (O&G) companies aim to manage seabed survey data based on sound geo-information management principles and practices. Historically, geographical features interpreted from seabed survey have been delivered in unstructured CAD files that have led to many difficulties in the management of survey data. These issues include the fact that data from different surveys has been difficult to integrate and share with joint venture partners. In view of these needs, the OGP Seabed Survey Data Model (SSDM) Task Force was formed in 2010 to define a standard GIS data model for seabed survey. This model can be used as a deliverable standard between O&G companies and survey contractors, as well as a sound data model for managing seabed survey data at an enterprise level within O&G companies.Role:Chair and technical focal point for the Seabed Survey Data Model (SSDM) task force that sits under the OGP Geo-information Subcommittee. The task force is in place to maintain and continually develop the SSDM which is an international standard for the data exchange and management of seabed survey data.
