I am a full-stack software engineer with over 25 years design and development experience.Specialising in scalable commercial web and mobile application development using modern tech stacks, including:• Laravel• Vue JS• Capacitor JS• PHP• JavaScriptWith over 10 years development experience in Laravel (including the full ecosystem) and 25+ years’ experience in PHP, I can help lead, manage, and implement large scale commercial web software projects.Most recently, I’ve worked in numerous contract lead developer/CTO roles for bootstrapped and funded tech start-ups and have built custom software and mobile-responsive web applications in the gambling, online gaming, and marketing industries, as well as full-featured eLearning platforms, booking software, Content Management Systems (CMS), and various other types of enterprise software applications.During my career, I have primarily worked on a freelance/contract basis, but also as part of larger teams in permanent roles.Furthermore, I have many years commercial experience working with several off-the-shelf technologies such as WordPress and Magento, as well as thorough working knowledge developing enterprise applications with the Laravel PHP framework and have been working with and using the framework since 2012, up to the current version.I have developed a strong knowledge of database design and the principles behind it, and I am experienced with SQL scripting, MySQL, and PostgreSQL.I am very familiar with advanced MVC/HMVC architecture, package development, 3rd-party API integration and I develop modular and scalable applications using test-driven/API-driven methodologies, appropriate design patterns and principles, and follow the latest PHP-FIG (PSR) standards.I am also very familiar and comfortable with the command line and my working knowledge of JavaScript and associated technologies/libraries is excellent, including Vue JS.As an experienced full-stack software engineer, I am proficient in many areas of web design and development, utilising an assortment of web technologies and tools.I also have many years’ experience managing, training, and leading dev teams, including experience in (and advocating for) lean development and project management methodologies.I have managed and lead recruitment for dev teams, including interviewing/testing/hiring candidates.Most recently, I designed and developed an iGaming platform (https://racingstars.co.uk) for a new funded start-up and acted in an advisory capacity as their CTO.
