As CTO of Healthily, a global digital health platform, I led six teams across multiple countries to develop B2C and B2B SaaS products. By leveraging extensive analytical data from web, mobile, and business platforms, I made data-driven decisions and collaborated closely with the product team to shape strategy and define product requirements.Healthily has a complex mix of microservice and serverless based containerised infrastructure spanning AWS and Google Cloud. With a Smart Symptom Checker, Healthily provides a Class 1 medical device and operates using a defined SDLC as part of a Quality Management System to support this.Some key achievements:- Restructured the AI team, doubling project throughput in 2022 with only a 20% increase in team size.- Adopted a squad model to accelerate feature delivery, contributing to a faster time-to-market and driving product revenue - Outsourced Javascript development to a Turkey-based team, cutting costs by two-thirds- Implemented a Quality Management System (QMS), securing US medical device approval for the Smart Symptom Checker- Delivered a Cold, Flu, and Covid checker for Walmart within a tight 10-week deadline for a post-Christmas launch- Launched an advertising platform leveraging first-party data across all products- Introduced a new Business Intelligence (BI) architecture, enabling near real-time data analysis across all products and third-party services

Initially hired as a consultant to advise on software development for this membership only social networking site, then moved into the position of Director of Product Development to spearhead major re-architecting of both the hardware and software of the system to reflect burgeoning member growth which had resulted in severe performance problems during peak periods. Membership increased over seven-fold in that period. Opened a development center in Edinburgh.

Medwell was a medical systems integration company offering hardware and software solutions for physician practices across the United States which included a web platform supporting 600 practices. They were the first company to provide a patient notes capability through handwriting recognition.Reported to the CIO. Led engineering, training, implementation and support departments.
