Having worked previously for a finance house, I was head hunted to become the dealerships Business Manager. I was required to have 6 months retail sales experience first so I trained and sold to both private individuals and motability customers at the groups Citroen garages in Bury and Wigan Pier. Once I was promoted to Business Manager I was based at the Citroen garage in Blackburn. In 1996 I moved into Fleet sales and over the next 5 years proactively engaged North West businesses through various methods growing sales year on year. I was promoted to Group Fleet Sales Manager in 2001 and developed and managed a robust award winning Fleet department selling multi-franchise cars and vans nationally. We sold via direct contact to the customer and also through our qualified network of brokers. I controlled business sales at four Citroen sites ensuring that dealership targets and manufacturer standards were always successfully achieved through disciplines, processes and hard work.

First employed as an inputter but promoted to an underwriter 12 months later, i worked in the motor division of this international finance company offering car finance to customers with bad credit. This was a niche market but costly to the customer as our rates were 20% flat. As this was prior to the internet all checks were carried out manually so underwriting decisions were timely compared to today.
