I worked on various projects involving SharePoint 2010 and MVC. This included:- PCI Compliant Form Entry and Processing ApplicationA secure, PCI compliant application to accept and store credit card information was created that also allowed work allocation and form processing for different teams was implemented. I worked as a developer and solutions engineer within a 4 person SCRUM to deliver the aplication using BDD methods and C# MVC 4. All facets of the application were delivered to a high standard and went live, successfully serving O2 processing teams.- Customer Services Intranet MigrationA large classic ASP intranet and its various spinoff applications needed migrating to a new, supportable server platform and critical facets of the site upgrading to MVC. I worked as a developer and solutions engineer within a 4 person SCRUM dealing with a lot of varying challenges that naturally surround such an old, large codebase. We had to migrate the entire application, rewriting various parts in MVC with BDD techniques and ensuring it worked across the SDLC operating environments utilising continuous integration. We also implemented a web crawl and indexer utilising Java open source products Nutch (for crawling) and Solr (for indexing, Lucene based), resulting in significant savings for the business.The intranet along with its many facets, touchpoints and related tasks were migrated/implemented successfully resulting in significant performance increase and uptime.-Voluntary RedundancyA SharePoint 2010 site template for a VR calculation for employees to submit their own circumstances too and be immediately told the resulting figures they could expect. A lot of business logic requirements were successfully implemented using BDD and MSpec.

Worked on a variety of SharePoint 2007/2010 web projects, often as the sole developer as well as within teams.Main project: UKCTG (http://www.ukctg.nihr.ac.uk) - This site is intended to make clinical trials more publicly accessible, and allow potential trial participants to search for trials relevant to them. Phase 1 of the site was delivered in SharePoint 2007, with Phase 2 implemented in 2010 after site migration. The site has been mentioned in the UK governments "Plan for Growth" document too.- Developed and delivered in SharePoint 2010- Was the sole SharePoint developer from start to finish- Helped specify and setup SDLC environment, implementing Continuous Integration with TeamCity and Powershell scripts for automated build and deployment.- The site imports data from different web services each night. I liased with each data source and agreed interfaces before implementing service usage.- Data is imported into the Business Data Catalog for SharePoint and site search uses 2010 Keyword query API.- Created REST interface for the site as well as easy data export for 3rd parties.- Site mention in "Plan for Growth" (http://cdn.hm-treasury.gov.uk/2011budget_growth.pdf, p.93, 3rd action)

Hired as the sole Sharepoint developer to design, install and implement a Group level intranet site.Key Tasks included: - Installation and setup of Sharepoint system and a collaboration site for the company Group. - Developed so that new CSS and style could be easily implemented for all Sharepoint UI features by none Sharepoint developers. - Creating a variety of web parts, page layouts and content types for use within the intranet site.

Come to be regarded as a central resource within the team for problem solving and advice.Key Tasks included:- Creating a variety of web parts, page layouts and content types including a Page Comment web part that allows web users to make comments against articles on the site, complete with data store and n-tier architecture.- Creating features for deploying web parts, content types and page layouts to the main site. Also creating feature receivers to act on Sharepoint page events.- Developed Personlisation function for the site with a custom Profile and Membership system.- Designed and developed Moderation site utilising Monorail, Jquery and NHibernate.

Software Developer within an IT department working on a wide variety of projects primarily for Government but also Private sector.Key Tasks included:- Working on a variety of projects at varying stages of the project lifecycle, from Sales and ITT advice through to testing and environment setup/administration.- Helping to troubleshoot and advising other team members with any technical queries problems that may occur on other projects.- Designing/Developing scalable solutions for new applications to be developed in C#. This covers creating an extendable, normalised data model as well as employing proven OO techniques.Major projects/Achievements include:- Worked on a massive data migration task to migrate 30k+ pages of content from one CMS datasource to another for a national government website utilising SQL server and XML documents.- Created ASP.NET application to allow the tracking of government building projects (e.g. London Olympics). Utilised n-tier architecture and SQL 2005 backend with some AJAX features implemented.

National Health Service National Programme for I.T.Software Engineer for the design & build of dynamic server provisioning system for the largest non-military I.T project in the world.Key Tasks included:- Gathering user requirements for enhancements to existing/new applications. Required talking to various teams and individuals to define capabilities of new developments.- Provided progress reports and notifying issues to immediate management in an understandable format. Also reporting any identified areas or process’s I feel could be improved and seeking user and management approval to go ahead and start work on these new projects.- Worked with various technologies to fulfil project requirements. Technologies used most were ASP.NET 2 C# and SQLServer 2005. Also implemented VBS scripting files to carry out automated server build tasks.Achievements included:- Designed and developed an ASP.NET C# Web application with SQL backend that looks after capacity management for all servers for the NHS-NEEM project held within a large datacentre.- A new web application for initiating automated server builds was handed over to me from a team of 5 developers. The application was half developed and utilised ASP.NET 2 C# and SQL Server 2005. Successfully redesigned and re-developed all aspects of the application and deployed and tested it within timescales.- Designed and developed an enhanced Issue Tracker application so that Accenture and BT had a central website to record issues and problems.

British Airports Authority – Heathrow Airport (September2003 – November 2004)Worked within a team of 6 to design and develop a taxi control system for Heathrow airport. The aim of the project was for taxis to be requested for terminals as needed by the taxi agents operating there.Achievements include:- Designed and built a C# application on the Compact Framework which used Bluetooth and Wireless technology. Also designed and built a C# PC application to act as the taxi control process test harness whilst it was still being developed.- Worked within a team of two to build a Java application that translates and routes XML messages as well as a test harness for it.- Became a core development consultant for the project as I had development experience in nearly all aspects of the applications involved. Also involved working closely with international technical partners and travelling to test sites in Europe.Norwich City Council - (September 2002– September 2003)Sofware Developer within a team that designed and built web sites and Intranet to fulfil the E-Government target set by for all council boroughs. This project used ASP as the presentation tier and Interwoven as the content management system with SQL Server 2000 holding the site content.Achievements include:- Designed and built a Staff and Contact Directory using ASP, LDAP, ADSI and VB COM objects. - Led a team of 3-4 in the design and implementation of a Health and Safety incident reporting website in ASP. This involved designing the site, assigning specific areas of work to the team and ensuring coding standards were followed for future development.- Picked up and worked well within all technologies of the project, including the XML/Perl based Interwoven Content management system, SQLServer 2000 and ASP.The project involved meeting customers for running through prototypes for their requirements and User Acceptance Testing of websites developed.
