Since her grandsons were diagnosed with Duchenne she has campaigned tirelessly at the Scottish Parliament and brought much need awareness of the condition to the attention of the people in Scotland.Inspired by Eileen's efforts, the families in Scotland decided to name the charity in her honour.Government cuts, as a result of the global economic crisis, will leave Duchenne families in an ever worsening financial predicament as their care services and adaptation grants will be cut. It will also become extremely difficult to obtain suitable equipment such as, wheelchairs, respiratory machines and beds. The Eileen McCallum Trust aims to alleviate the hardship they may face in the future.
