I was contracted to work with the Research Consortium to help deliver the site trials (Proof of concept) of the new remediation technology on active contaminated land sites in UK and Holland.HEISTT is a collaborative FP7 research project (part funded by the European Commission). Its aim is to create an innovative system for injecting remedial chemicals into the subsurface for the purpose of treating contaminated groundwater. I was seconded to HBR Limited to act as their interim Remediation Technical Manager for 3 months.I was responsible for technical input to new and existing remediation schemes, tendering for new projects, mentoring junior staff, research & development, project management etc.I still continue to provide risk assessments and remedial verification for them on an as needed project by project basis.
