A career project manager for both the public and private sector, I have personally designed, managed, and negotiated over $620 million in city, state, federal, domestic and international design, construction and maintenance projects (And counting). I received a Master of Business Administration (MBA) Degree in Sustainable Business with a concentration in Green Development in 2012 and a Bachelor of Architecture from Howard University in 1995. I am proud member of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc. I am a retired Lieutenant Colonel from the Air Force Reserves with 28 years of service.As an architect, I work to redefine the architect’s role to become a design leader, advocate and promoter for effective sustainable development practices. In my current role as the Atlanta Studio Director, Moody Nolan Architects, the largest African-American owned architecture design firm in the country, we promote a "Responsive Design" approach to collaborate with our clients and partners to create community-based, high performance, customized design solutions to the communities we serve. The community engagement focus was a key component of my own practice that I led for eight years. As the past President of Syntony Design Collaborative, LLC. I used the latest trends and innovations in sustainability and urban design to create sustainable design strategies through a "systems thinking" framework. My hope is to leverage my experience and breath of experience to facilitate collaborative efforts on all levels to create more fully integrated, healthy and sustainable buildings and communities not only for the Atlanta metropolitan region but the nation. I am also passionate about youth and education advocacy, leadership development, the creative arts, and diversity. I have experience with organizing, administering and facilitating professional and educational organizations for more than 20 years with a focus on our inner-city communities. A proven leader in the Atlanta design community, I am one of the founding members of the The Atlanta Center for Creative Inquiry, Inc. (ACCI), Now SPIKE Studio, a 501.c.3 non-profit organization dedicated to the exposure of minority high school youth to architecture and the development of their creativity.
