Penn State University's Advanced Vehicle Team is creating an autonomous vehicle that can drive itself in the Autodrive Challenge II by SAE, a competition that challenges students to design, develop, and test a fully autonomous vehicle. As the Sub Department Lead for Mapping and Localization, I contribute to this ambitious goal by leading a team of engineers who design, implement, and test the software components that enable the vehicle to perceive and navigate its environment, using Python, ROS, and OpenCV. We have successfully completed the second year of the challenge, achieving a high score in the mapping and localization tasks.I am also a Computer Science student at Penn State University, where I am pursuing my Bachelor's degree with a focus on Full Stack development, data analytics, and machine learning. I have participated in several hackathons, where I have built innovative applications using popular frameworks such as ROS, Django, Flask, and Firebase, and have leveraged ChatGPT, a natural language processing model, to create interactive chatbots. I am passionate about applying my skills and knowledge to solve real-world problems and create positive impact.
