- Perform decontamination process; identify and use appropriate methods and solutions to sort, disassemble, wash and disinfect used instruments, utensils and equipment. - Inspect, assemble and pack surgical instruments and medical equipment.- Validate and perform sterilisation process; select appropriate sterilisation methods. - Operate sterilisation and cleaning equipment with careful attention to all controls necessary to achieve proper operation.- Handle and manage the storage of sterilised items.- Maintain inventory of all surgical supplies in Central Sterile Supplies Department and patient care areas served by CSSD through accurate counting requisitioning, identification, labelling, shelving and distribution.
