I joined the finance department of Mirabaud Securities Limited - Brokerage in a difficult period due to shifting entities from an LLP to a LTD company, on top of some management changes and also being relatively under-resourced. As part of the finance team, I was mainly accountable for reconciling monthly commissions and verifying them with individual traders. Apart from that, I worked closely with the financial controller and the accounts manager to transfer figures within SAGE 50 to address the entity change. I also assisted with preparing accounts for multiple entities located in different regions, performing inter-company reconciliations as well. Furthermore, I cooperated with the compliance department by providing financial data.Overall, it was a great learning experience at a Swiss investment bank.

My responsibilities included:• Assisting with audit working papers and substantive audit procedures• Conducting audit test of controls at clients’ office• Routine castings, call-overs, vouching and movement analysisDuring the internship, I also cooperated with the tax department on tax related matters.

As an intern of a hotel's accounting department, I was responsible for posting journals onto accounting systems such as SQL, UBS and Oracle. I also performed monthly bank reconciliations and audited the hotel's credit card statements.Apart from working under my manager, I assisted the sales department with simple recording tasks.
