Projects vary in complexity and budget and all are at varying project stages ranging from inception, design and construction. All projects require close project team interface with the delivery partner, contractor and various stakeholders, which has enabled me to develop as a professional and a communicator.

Responsible to the client to oversee all contracted commissioning activities and managing the handover processes to ensure the contractor's successful completion and handover of assets. The role included implementing new handover strategies and assisting the project team to solve problems in relation to the unique handover process mandated by the client.

Responsible for leading all construction projects undertaken by the contractor, ensuring they are effectively managed to CDM15. The main responsibilities and key skills required include: - Excellent communication - with clients and senior staff members. - Organised person-er - key for planning construction projects. - Literate with good written English - for preparing method statements and Construction Phase Plans. - Excellent presentation - Managing stakeholders and key project consultants.- Understanding project scope - recognizing issues and managing specification changes with Designers.- Identifying project and site risk where applicable and advising the sub-contractors on courses of action to take to mitigate or control these risks.- Provide Project Management and Health and Safety consultation to senior management.- Take on the role of Principal Designer for smaller, less complex projects for the regiment to conduct in-house construction project training activities.- Quick thinker - to provide technical solutions / advice to the contractor for complex construction projects.

Responsible for managing the production of numerous infrastructural designs for external contractors to build often in challenging environments and to tight deadlines. The key skills required and developed for this role included: - Leading diverse teams with varying skill sets and competencies.- Understanding and complying with regulations and policy eg. all designs comply with CDM15, building regulations and Euro Codes. - Producing and documenting all design calculations.- Costing and budget estimating, developing these as the project matured.- Programming design activity to meet targets.- Producing detailed design reports complete with full specifications, material costings as well as providing recommendations on project programming.- Managing design changes throughout the project life cycle.

Middle East

Managed 2 military enclaves in the Middle East providing assurance to the MOD by auditing the contractors and ensuring deliverables stated within the contract were met in a timely manner and to the standards required. Key skills required were:- Good communication with clients and senior managers.- Organised person-er with an ability to adapt to changes.- Understanding of contracting information.- Driving processes and auditing.- Health and Safety awareness and recognizing H&S risks to remove risks and protect end users.- Understanding Planned Maintenance (PPMs) and Reactive Maintenance.- Recognizing client requirements and initiating new works as well as identifying project risks.

Abbey Wood Station, London

Civilian site attachment as part of the Clerk of Works course. My role was about gaining as much knowledge from the experienced Project team as possible over a 6 week period, both from the client side and the contractors.

Produced high quality design drawings using Auto CAD for infrastructure up to 3 stories high. Managed a team of up to 5 design draftsmen on various operations and exercises both in the UK and globally. This included managing work output to meet deadlines, providing quality assurance to senior management, prioritizing and deconflicting projects where necessary, establishing and controlling processes to enable constant efficiency coming from the drawing office and motivating the team to meet targets.

Produced high quality working drawings using Auto CAD to very tight deadlines. Produced drawings both in the UK and in other austere environments across the world such as Iraq. My BTEC National Certificate qualified me to design and produce drawings for single story buildings as well as other infrastructure such as security layouts for MOD enclaves, entrance points and security barriers.
