I was delighted to be offered an opportunity to return to a new role with the McBurney Transport Group Dublin. This role was predominately a business development and key account management role, however an oversight on operations was required and my previous 10 year experience with the McBurney Group made this multi faceted role both successful and enjoyable. During this time I won new business and opened new accounts for the company, I invigorated existing accounts to up-sell our logistics offering and increased volumes on existing accounts.I troubleshooted issues in the Dublin operation both identified internally and by customers, to create successful and efficient solutions to sometimes quite complex problems.I enjoyed this role very much and had achieved a lot personally and for the business before leaving to accept an offer of a new challenge in a new industry for me.

I started of working for the McBurney Transport Group whilst completing my degree. After I graduated from collage I took on the role of Planning Team Leader. I had responsibility for the planning of up to 55 vehicles made up of our own Dublin fleet and that of our dedicated sub-contractor vehicles. (At his time the business overall operated 260 tractors and 850 trailers). The planning process I was responsible for involved circa 300+ daily collections and deliveries as part of our large scale logistics contracts with leading 'Blue Chip' companies predominantly in the temperature controlled food sector. This role involved a high level of attention to detail and personal competencies such as analytical skills, problem solving, technical knowledge/understanding and resourcefulness. This role involved a 24/7 commitment to the operation.
