I am a Civil Engineering graduate from the University of Alberta, and am seeking a job opportunity where I can gain practical experience to successfully launch my career. My goal is to find a company that could utilize both my strong technical skills and recognized interpersonal skills.During my last two years of my degree I discovered that my passions within the umbrella of civil engineering were water resource engineering, environmental engineering and geotechnical engineering. I came to this realization because I found I could sit working on assignments for these courses for hours, without realizing how much time was actually passing by. And I can say unashamed, found myself looking forward to the next assignments to come my way. This made choosing Water Resource Design and Environmental Design as my fourth year design courses an easy and clear choice. With each design course I learned the skills necessary to design various engineering works to a professional standard as well as how to successfully write a technical report for a client. Throughout these courses I was able to refine my leadership skills and develop both strong written and verbal communication skills. While obtaining my degree I worked part-time in the customer service industry and was successful in advancing my status to a full time management position with my current employer. By having to balance both my university and work related responsibilities, I was able to strengthen my time management skills, develop a strong work ethic and leaned how to prioritize multiple important tasks. From my managerial position I am able to manage a diverse team of people, enhance my verbal communication skills and master business and client relations. My acquired skill set has allowed me to mentor numerous other managers and provide them with the tools to be successful once placed with their own team.
Listed skills include Engineering, Customer Satisfaction, Team Leadership, Technical Writing, and 29 others.
