About Garrett Browne
My first Marketing work began in 2010, in Missoula, MT, as a Web Marketing Coordinator for First Call (a Montana IT and Web company) writing content, building websites, and running some smaller end digital campaigns. That position grew into a full-time Marketing Manager. With that role, I had to wear many hats in accomplishing both First Call's internal Marketing as well as marketing campaigns on behalf of our Web Clients. Having enjoyed my entry way into the Marketing world, I knew I wanted to grow and expand my skills sets and client base. Knowing that, I wanted to turn my focus to joining an Ad Agency. In 2014 I gained such an opportunity and joined what was then called Ethology, with four years of paid search experience as an entry-level Associate. On the Ethology team, I worked with my team on managing, optimizing, creating strategies and working directly with clients on Paid Media campaigns for Waste Management, Franchise Services Inc, Culligan Water, LifeLock and many others. These campaigns included Paid Search, Paid Social, Display, Landing Page testing and content marketing. Campaigns would target both B2B and DTC KPIs and would simply vary from Client to Client. While I started as an Associate, I grew into a Specialist, before assuming the role as Director of Paid Media overseeing 6 direct reports. Unfortunately, at the beginning of 2017, Ethology began to fold and the Portland office was closed. Following my time with Ethology, I assumed the role as Director of Digital Services at MBT Marketing, overseeing all digital media, web development, as well as client and new business strategy as it relates to digital with the Account Team. This afforded me the ability to build a Digital Department for what had then primarily been a TV/Production Agency, while at the time gaining the full-service experience that I was seeking having come from a Digital-only Agency in Ethology. Looking to expand to a larger, more National Agency. I have served as Director of Paid Search for Rain the Growth Agency, overseeing all paid search and YouTube strategies, as well as a team of 9 direct reports. Since joining Rain in 2019, I have overseen $200M in Media Spend, with the calendar year 2021 being our largest year yet. I serve on both our New Business teams, our OTT Strategy Team, as well as a Senior leader on the Digital Department as a whole. We primarily serve DTC Clients, as they are the basis of our Agency, but do maintain certain Drive-to-Retail and Healthcare Clients as well.
