As a nondestructive inspector, my responsibility is to identify any defects on the engine propulsion systems without altering the part in any way. I identify any cracks or discontinuities in the eddy current flow on each geometry of a given part to determine if the crack or discontinuity meets reject criteria provided by the technical orders. If the part does not pass inspection, I visually inspect, prep, and polish the part in accordance with the technical orders provided on the work control document. I comply with all technical orders, time compliance technical orders, process orders, quality standards, safety standards, and all other related data not mentioned above. I verify all information provided on the work control documents match what is on the part before inspection. I report recommend technical order changes to engineer if there are any discrepancies. I use the RFC system to inspect parts as specified by the work control document. I am also certified to test aluminum alloy parts to ensure the conductivity readings are within limits in accordance with technical orders. I ensure the part has been properly heat treated and hardness tested in accordance with technical orders before preforming conductivity inspection. -
