During my field placement with the Department of Justice Canada - Programs Branch my duties included providing policy support to program staff and to project administration support for day-to-day program activities. Further responsibilities included developing the Indigenous Policy and Program (IPPI) Hub’s knowledge base – developed literature review on the use of innovative approaches to Criminal Justice System challenges, including overrepresentation in the CJS – conducted and collected research, precisely assessed the data researched, and prepared reports for management analysis. I contributed to knowledge sharing and policy development capacity building – updated IPPI Hub GCPedia and other policy documents – drafted blogs and other pieces of innovative approaches to policy development. Monitoring social media, blogs and publications related to policy innovation followed by preparing high level summaries of relevant collected information.

Dealt with queries, issues and specific instances of conflict of interest. Filed and organized conflict of interest reports into the internal system. Thoroughly reviewed conflict of interest reports. Prepared detailed portfolios regarding decisions on specific conflicts of interest.
