I worked as a research assistant for the UCSC Department of Linguistics where I applied my phonetic and phonological knowledge to multiple ultrasound studies. One project focused on documenting consonant palatalization in Irish Gaelic using ultrasound imaging. My responsibilities on this project included:-Using Praat to label target words in the audio data-Using EdgeTrak to trace tongue contours in ultrasound images-Collaborating with fellow research assistants to ensure consistency in data markup-Regularly reporting data quality and overall progress to the research teamThe second study used ultrasound imaging to investigate possible differences in productions of laterals by monolingual English speakers and bilingual Spanish/English speakers. My responsibilities on this project included:-Scheduling participants for data collection-Operating the ultrasound device to collect audio and ultrasound data-Identifying and labeling target lateral productions in Praat-Regularly reporting data quality and overall progress to lead researchers

Teach children ages 4-17 on proper swimming techniques; Stay up to date on Red Cross lifesaving techniques and respond to emergencies accordingly

Efficiently organize hard copy and digital versions of supplier invoices, delivery dates, customer payments and voucher claims; update culinary recipes when needed
