You know what really grinds my gears (besides pineapple🍍 on pizza🍕)? When good technology is wasted in bad products (I’m looking at you, Amazon Fire Phone). From smart coffee pots to wireless sensors, there’s no excuse for misapplied technology. 𝗟𝗲𝘁 𝗺𝗲 𝗵𝗲𝗹𝗽 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗳𝗶𝗻𝗱 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗳𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝘀𝗼𝗹𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻.🥇I specialize in industrial communication technologies--like wireless, serial, Ethernet, and HART—and how they can enable the migration of legacy equipment to the IIOT 🏭 (that's the Industrial Internet of Things, if you're not up on your acronyms). I'm part of a team that creates products utilizing those technologies. My passion lies in crafting the narrative of how they solve people's problems by (get this!) understanding who the user is and what they do and do not value, and then hatching the plan to bring those products to the market. I also love to dabble with DIY projects, and have built some pretty cool stuff using Arduino and Raspberry Pi. I've even laid out and had my own PCBs manufactured (and they worked!). Ask me about my homemade Wifi connected temperature and humidity monitor that publishes to the cloud ☁ using MQTT.I've been a Cub Scout Den Leader for the past 3 years, so I've learned a thing or two about herding cats and maintaining organized chaos with a group of 15(!) 8-year old boys.And if you're wondering about that Ghostbusters thing, I'm also the equipment technician and principal behind the Hershey Ghostbusters, a nonprofit group assisting local charities with fundraising.🚫👻
