Hello, I am a senior at the University of Tennessee Knoxville studying at the Haslam College of Business and working towards a management degree with collateral in entrepreneurship. I am a hard worker which is reflected in the focus I put on the customer. My ability to meet deadlines, multi-task, and produce timely results ensures the customer receives a quality product. In my previous position as a project coordinator, I had to handle multiple tasks simultaneously which required me to be organized and stay in regular communication with my supervisor and customers. In my current role, I’m continuing to learn the importance of building relationships with customers, subcontractors, and co-workers and have developed strong interpersonal skills. I also have good time management skills and utilize them daily to stay on top of all the tasks required to complete a building project. Some of my business interests include analyzing real estate for potential development opportunities as well as visualizing an overall master plan for the development. My experiences with both commercial and residential construction have prepared me to pursue a career in construction, real estate, and development. For example, my experiences in residential and commercial construction industries have sharpened my communication skills, as I’ve had to listen to customer needs, follow up regularly, and coordinate with various material suppliers and multiple subcontractors involving every part of the building. Those same experiences have taught me to pay attention to the details of the schedule and envision how their daily progress affects the larger picture. My career goal after college is to go to work as a project manager for a commercial construction company while also focusing on the broader fields of real estate and development which will grow my exposure in those areas.
