Over the course of this project I reduced the number of temporary employee vendors from 30 down to 7 and, through contract re-negotiation, was responsible for cost reduction by as much as 22%.I was recruited into this role to revamp the existing recruiting group into a highly specialized team of recruiters and recruiting coordinators. Three short weeks after accepting the role, Sterling Bank was acquired by Umpqua Bank and my position was eliminated after the transaction was finalized.

Recruiter/ Headhunter

Spokane, Wa, Us

As a Recruiter with a primary focus in the Biotech and Pharmaceutical industries, I worked with some of the largest and most successful companies in the Nation and around the globe. I was able to utilize my networking and business development skills to either re-establish, or build from scratch relationships with 12 Biotech and Pharmaceutical firms resulting in multiple placements in the $120K-$300K range. Industry experts from Manager to Vice President. All while maintaining relationships with some of the top passive candidates in the world.A truly amazing opportunity, and an excellent company to work for. The work load behind this role was daunting and required serious focus and study to learn how to recruit highly published PhD’s at the top of their field and assist them in making their career moves, all while learning the Business Development angle needed to acquire the best companies in the highly competitive Biotech and Pharmaceutical Industries. After 18 months of hard core Business Development in an Industry I had not yet had a chance to work within, and garnering huge successes, I decided that a change to a less stress, non-commission dependent role would be the best. Fantastic experience!

Mar 2012 - Aug 2013

Staffing Manager

Menlo Park, Ca, Us

Temporary and Permanent recruiter for the world's first and largest specialized staffing firm, a recognized leader in professional consulting and staffing services for the fields of accounting and finance.Work in a team environment with responsibility for negotiating and developing business from new and current clients. Market services via telephone and by conducting in-person meetings with key decision-makers in accounting and finance departments. Additional responsibilities included: recruiting, interviewing and matching highly skilled accounting and finance professionals with clients’ projects, temporary assignments and temporary to full-time opportunities; managing ongoing assignments to deliver outstanding customer service to both clients and candidates; providing ongoing communication and career guidance to candidates; and participating in local trade association and networking events to increase presence in the business community.I enjoyed the challenges of this role, even though it was not the best possible match for my skill set. Excellent people to work with, and great companies to meet through the Business Development process. I learned quite a bit form this position and would recommend this company to anyone in need of excellent Accounting professionals on a short term basis.

Jun 2011 - Jan 2012

Owner/ Designer/ Chief Instructor

G3 Tactical

I developed, maintained, and expanded a diverse list of over 250 top tier clients, which included more than a few Gunsite Academy graduates, with courses in Handgun, Shotgun, and Rifle at various levels of capability. I maintained the personal firearms collections of multiple clients and served as the Primary Advisor for Studio Buerto Huste, a boutique firearms manufacturer that tests and evaluates new products. Additionally, I served as a Consultant and Advisor for corporate, private, and governmental security firms for recruiting, design, and firearms courses in Safety, Marksmanship, and Field Craft. I designed weapons systems and have Patents Pending for Sniper Operations, Close Quarters Battle, and an interesting design for an anti missile/ anti aircraft defense system using a mixture of existing Ordnance and dynamic new technology.Of all of the things I learned and experienced in the military, the thing that I miss the most is watching understanding dawn in the eyes of a student, no matter the subject. My thirteen years in the United States Army Infantry, serving in training and combat environments with the 2nd Battalion of the 75th Ranger Regiment, 3rd Special Forces Group, and the 10th Mountain Division give me the real-world experience required to be considered a Subject Matter Expert. While I still have much to learn, I know what works and what doesn't. I learned firsthand that manuals and standards are, usually, created by guys behind desks, and that there is no substitute for being there.Running one’s own business is an experience I would recommend that everyone try at least once. It is eye opening to discover how much work is required and how rewarding it can be. It’s easy to get lost in reminiscing, wondering how things could have been different in a better economy, but even though this chapter of my life is closed, I am very proud of what I created with the help of some business partners I now get to call friends.

Lead Construction Recruiter/ Headhunter

Management Recruiters Of Coeur D Alene

Developed and implemented marketing and recruiting plan resulting in over $500,000.00 in revenue. Interacted extensively with clients to fully understand their specific needs and vision. Placed senior management professionals for multi-million and multi-billion dollar contractors in vital roles at the executive level. This was an excellent place for me to learn how to work outside of the Military, and apply the skills that I had developed in the Army to training, mentoring, and evaluating the people on my team. This position was a lucky find, and propelled me on my way to become who I am today.

Sep 2004 - Feb 2008

Platoon Sergeant

Arlington, Virginia, Us

Advanced in rank to Staff Sergeant to hold positions of responsibility and authority including Platoon Sergeant, Sniper/ Scout Section Leader, Anti-Tank Section Leader, and Brigade Liaison Officer. Instrumental in the wartime force protection and joint interagency coordination efforts, special reconnaissance, direct action, and other sensitive mission essential tasks to the United States Special Operations Command, Task Force Viking. Responsible for $1.75MM in weapons and equipment with zero losses in multiple combat environments. Developed and maintained combat orders, training plans, and counseling programs resulting in numerous Excellent ratings with zero losses of personnel or equipment during multiple stateside and overseas training deployments. Responsible for the development of, and assessing the implementation of, training outlines, Department of Defense safety programs, and unit level recruiting programs.I spent close to 13 years working in some of the most unusual and hostile environments this world has to offer, learning how to apply leadership techniques under the harshest conditions imaginable in order to prepare myself, and up 35 subordinates for the realities of Combat Operations. This experience forced me to leave behind the attitudes and postures of the young adult and replace them with the work ethic and accountability that can only be acquired within the United States Army Infantry (although it pains me to say it, the Marines do a fine job at this as well). I faced leadership challenges on a daily basis and progressively grew to higher and higher levels of responsibility while constantly pushing myself to attend career enhancing courses and schools that required me to be mentally fit, physically strong and morally straight in order to ensure that I shouldered more than my share of the task, whatever it may be.
