Dedicated firefighter and volunteer, serving his communities for over 33 years. Passionate about and committed to raising funds for childhood cancer research, by bringing awareness of the St. Baldrick’s Foundation to the Space Coast community and State of Florida. Accelerated financial growth and expansion of the Foundation’s campaign over seven year period, resulting in over $1,700,000 raised. Founded the “Bow Ties & Blue Jeans” silent auction event, raising an additional $105,000 in 3 events. In only the second year of the Foundation’s presence in Brevard County, Space Coast Living Magazine recognized their efforts as the "Readers Choice Favorite Charity"​, in 2013 Garrett was nominated for the prestigious Florida Today “Volunteer of the Year” at the annual Volunteer Recognition Awards and in 2014 Garrett was awarded by Space Coast Medicine with the prestigious "Central Florida Humanitarian Award"​. 2015 Space Coast Living Magazine, for a second time awarded the "Readers Choice Favorite Charity"​ to St. Baldrick's Brevard and our team of incredibly dedicated volunteers.Serving as the Volunteer President of the Viera Hawks Quarterback Club worked along side & with committed volunteers to organize fundraising and social events for the Viera High School Football programs resulting in $300,000+ raised for 3 out of state games in Allen Texas, Washington D.C. and Charleston S.C. as well as providing state of the art equipment, Adidas Uniforms and personal protective gear for a program of 100+ players.
