For the last six years I have been a consultant and contractor helping tech companies build out their products and engineering teams. At Northwestern Mutual, I served as a code quality SME and agile coach for their 5,000+ developers. In my consultant work, I helped founding teams develop strategy, recruit talent, oversee and manage cross-disciplinary product development teams, develop software, re-architect legacy systems, and provide any other value I can bring to the table using my diverse background in management and technology across both start-ups and established organizations. Some of the systems I helped architect and develop are a cloud and mobile platform for freight brokering and logistics (irisfreight.com), a health tech platform that facilitates COVID-19 testing programs for employers (verifiedhealth.com), and a multi-tenant web and mobile based fundraising platform for police and firefighter associations.I have worked across multiple industries including healthcare technology, restaurants and hospitality, supply chain and logistics, financial technology, and fitness/wellness.As a full-stack developer, I have experience with multiple tech stacks including:• React, ReactNative, JQuery, KnockoutJS, Javascript• .NET/C#, Java, Python, NodeJS• MongoDB, MySQL, MSSQL, Firebase• AWS, Azure, GCPwhich allows me to plug into most existing infrastructures on day one.Earlier in my career, I worked in healthcare tech for several years and gained experience in the corporate world. The foundation of my career has been built on both the successes and failures of this venture.In addition to my work experience, I have a PhD in Electrical Engineering with a focus in theoretical electro-physics, power systems, quantum mechanics, and magnetics. My graduate research taught me how to think outside the box, how to be a problem solver, how to learn, and how to communicate effectively. I have taken these skills and applied them to every project I have worked on since. The analytical skills I acquired have helped me see things differently than most people which has been very advantageous to my career.In summary, I bring to the table 22 years of software development experience, 11 years of management experience, the trials and tribulations of several start-up ventures, strong communication skills, and a lifelong passion for learning.
