Being a new role in small company, I have been responsible for all DevOps responsibilities. I transitioned to DevOps Engineer when I took on the responsibilities of engineering a Kubernetes infrastructure solution and migrating our environments from bare metal to Kubernetes. Here are some key achievements:- Designed and provisioned Kubernetes infrastructure on bare metal, Linode, and currently GKE.- Coordinated the breakdown of our flagship product into microservices.- Containerized >10 applications by writing Dockerfiles, Jenkinsfiles, and helm charts.- Developed an automated CI/CD pipeline with Jenkins and Argo CD to build/deploy to all environments.- Engineered and implemented a Kubernetes-first development environment for each microservice.- Wrapped bootstrapping and backup/restore capabilities for in-cluster deployment in a python CLI.- Made great strides in automating DR scenarios and reducing toil.

In addition to contributing to our existing python projects, my primary responsibility was to fork Apache Superset (https://github.com/PlaidCloud/incubator-superset) and integrate it into our current ecosystem, so our customers have real power to visualize their data.

As a company, Buckeye Mountain specializes in technical solutions for railways and motor carriers who improves the efficiency and logistics of their customers. I worked on a development team for a project called IMRS, an asset-tracking solution for intermodal equipment owners and vendors.- Worked primarily with C#, using ASP.NET MVC 4 with Razor view engine.- Backend exposed a WCF Rest API, and the data layer utilizes SQL Server 2014 and Entity Framework 6.- Maintained three legacy apps, two of which were Windows CE and the third was a WinForms app. - Worked extensively with EDI and XML schemas.- Automated document exchange with custom XML schemas and the accompanying logic.
