Develop and use optical systems to study electronic properties of possible next generation computing platforms and candidate room temperature superconductors.Excellent interdisciplinary team leadership as demonstrated by managing theoretical, materials growth, and materials measurement experts to perform and analyze the first measurements of the electronic structure of CuMnAs thin films, producing a paper with an accurate theoretical description of our experimental results (arXiv:2210.03818 and under review). Strong project manager and independent problem solver as demonstrated by identifying laser pointing drifting as a significant time sink, researching possible solutions, pitching a custom solution with budget and scope, and implementing the solution—including programing a GUI to connect cameras in a custom laser pointing imaging system to piezo controlled mirror mounts for active stabilization and expedited global laser pointing alignment, saving 2-4 hours per day. Great relationship development and networking abilities as demonstrated by facilitating an introduction between my team and global experts in nonequilibrium superconductivity, resulting in sharing information crucial to our ongoing efforts to confirm the existence of nonequilibrium superconductivity at room temperature.Highly adaptive and independent learner as demonstrated by independently learning AutoCAD to develop optics purge box, learning python to analyze data and implement above mentioned laser pointing system, and learning all requisite skills necessary to fix broken equipment, enabling ongoing extremely difficult measurements of candidate room temperature superconductors.Outstanding collaborative team player as demonstrated by supporting the successful research efforts of many collogues, resulting in over 10 non-first author papers and presentations.
