Garrison joined his alma mater as CFO of CSU Pueblo in June of 2023, leaving almost seven years of public service as Pueblo County Commissioner. Successful in all local elections during his political career, Garrison focused most of his efforts in the ares of transportation, public safety, economic development, and government finance while in office. He served as the chair of the board for five out of seven years of his tenure.Since joining CSU Pueblo, Garrison has enjoyed serving the university in several ways to include: finance, debt service management, financial reporting, real estate development, and revenue diversification. He is currently in his final year of a doctorate program at CU Denver where his Doctoral Research Project (DRP) is centered on public-private partnerships (P3s), especially as it pertains to urban renewal areas and TIF. He also currently serves as the Treasurer of Pueblo Urban Renewal Authority (PURA) and as a board member on the Colorado Health Foundation. Prior to his public sector work, Garrison held a Manager role at Hackett, working on various client engagements across the U.S. and North America. During his time at Hackett, the team performed as the #1 Oracle partner for three years in a row, delivering budgeting, forecasting, and reporting solutions to major public and private sector partners. Garrison has also worked entrepreneurially for many years in the areas of residential and commercial real estate, currently acting as Principal of GO Capital, LLC.Throughout his professional career, Garrison has built a unique resume of public and private sector experiences concentrated highly in the areas of finance, real estate, government, and economic development. He brings an attitude of service, entrepreneurial thinking, and an approach of stewardship to every role he has held.
