As a data platform engineer, I bridge the gap between software clients and data consumers, and data ingestion and storage pipelines. My responsibilities include monitoring and reporting on web host traffic, creating and maintaining Asp.net services and API endpoints to handle data collection, and making data available downstream to internal stakeholders. The latter also involves translating data language to business language for ease of access by non-technical consumers. As such, the role requires knowledge of both traditional web development techniques as well as data engineering principals and technologies.

As a summer intern at Facebook, I was placed on the Global Pages team and given an intern project that involved working on live Facebook code. My intern project included creating and maintaining an internal dashboard for the management of Facebook Global Page structures. The dashboard was a multi-faceted project that involved significant amounts of front-end work using Hack, Javascript, CSS, and HTML, as well back-end data management. Over the course of the summer I built the dashboard and worked with Pages Sales Team members to make it an intuitive and useful experience for employees who used it.
