Assess pipeline route maps; identify potential locations where special circumstances may apply (residential, industrial, major road crossings, waterways, etc.)• Interference from foreign pipelines and structures are documented across the line.• Pipe to soil potentials are recorded at each location to assess system prior to starting the survey.• GPS position is recorded every 100 feet of survey distance as well as at every pipeline feature (valve, road crossing, stream, etc.)• Depth of cover is recorded every 75 feet of survey distance as well as at terrain features such as edges of bodies of water, road crossings, ditches, etc.• Any areas of right of way deficiencies, exposed pipe, damaged pipeline signage, or right of way encroachments are fully documented with GPS location and photographs.• Pipe to soil potentials are recorded at a client defined interval during the survey. Pipe to soil potential will be collected at each test station and will include near ground, far ground, and IR between test points. It will also be collected at each rectifier and bond for foreign structures and pipelines.Final reporting will include voltage potential graphs, depth of cover, span and exposure documentation, all photographs, and a complete listing of all readings recorded. Pipeline survey distance will be referenced to pipe lint station number and will also carry GPS coordinates.

Acquired right-of-way permission for environmental, archaeological and civil survey. Engineered a 36” natural gas pipeline from Coos Bay, Oregon to Malian, CA. In charge of coordinating survey, land, archaeology and environmental crews to determine the most cost-effective and safest route to build pipeline. Due to extreme terrain in some areas, I used a helicopter for an overview or mountainous regions to help determine route. Job duties included:Cost-estimating and take-offsUsing LIDAR satellite imagery to determine potential land slide areasDetermining needed work spaceMeeting with land owners to gain access to properties to conduct studies for pipeline placementUsing Map Tech and a hand held GPS to map road crossings and access roadsDetermining which roads to be used to access pipeline during construction and if they need to be improved (widening, turn-outs, blading, grading, brushing, and/or building new roads)Working with forestry and marine executives to discuss environmental and community interests
