Develop and execute sourcing strategies, negotiate contracts, terms and conditions, SOWs, quotes, etc. Manage the RFP process for the purchase/sourcing of key products/services (hardware, software, maintenance, professional services on behalf of the telecom, IT, security and other organizations within Duke Energy. Maintain relationships with key suppliers, create purchase orders, resolve issues, reconcile invoices, etc.

• Sourcing lead on RFPs for software licensing, applications, infrastructure (data centers, call centers, servers, networks, security) power plant construction projects i.e. microwave tower builds/demolition and related structures and professional services which resulted in several hundred thousand dollars in savings. Most of the initiatives involved managing the expectations, requirements of the cross functional team members, reaching consensus on one set of requirements, vendor selection etc. • As the result of the Duke Energy/Progress Energy merger determined which agreements with common vendors had the better terms, pricing etc. and leveraged the increased spend from both companies to obtain significant price reductions, and better contract terms. This involved renegotiating existing agreements, merging agreements and negotiating new agreements.

Negotiated software licensing and support agreements with several vendors for CPU based software installed on a mainframe to be utilized by one of Xerox's largest customers.

AMERICAN RED CROSS (Charlotte, NC) (The American Red Cross is the nation’s premier emergency response organization) Technology (IT) Sourcing/Category Manager 9/11- 8/12• Category lead for software licensing, maintenance/support, and professional services. • Directed the RFP process for the sourcing of a supplier who will implement enhancements to the existing Siebel Call Center, Marketing, OBIEE, Siebel CTI and eEvents related to blood donor recruiting. • Managed the RFP process to source a supplier who will test the Red Cross landline and wireless networks for vulnerabilities.

• Selected as the telecom category lead on a corporate wide cost savings initiative sponsored by senior level management. Identified and implemented initiatives for cost reduction which realized several million dollars in savings. • Negotiated domestic & global software licensing, applications, hardware, infrastructure maintenance/support, professional services, ERP system (finance, HR, supply chain modules) enhancements, telecom, and facilities related agreements with savings of over $15 million dollars as the result of negotiations. • Led/managed cross functional teams throughout the RFP process which included gaining consensus on the requirements, evaluation of the vendor responses, & scoring/selection of the preferred vendor(s). • Managed an RFP to select Genzyme’s primary global telecom provider. Cost savings as the result of the RFP was projected to be $8.5 Million over three years based on an annual spend of $7M.
