Newtsan mine ceased operations in May 2009 and was placed on Care and Maintenance. Mynetrades was contracted to continue to run the Underground and Surface facilities of the mine, and also run the Newstan Washery whilst planning was done for a mine restart in July 2011. Coal from Awaba mine was trucked to the washery as the Mandalong haul road was completed and coal was transported to at the washery from Mandalong mine, ensuring continued operation for the Newstan Washery

All facets of Surface and Underground Mining, I have been involved with all the major coal companies, in a Trades and Engineering Role, as well as project management, for the past 30 years plus. I have worked in both the Open Cut and Underground sectors.
