I started working part-time assembling custom machinery while attending Kansas State University Polytechnic. My role slowly evolved into a programmer where I would add small additions to programs, troubleshoot issues, researched possible solutions, and wrote installation/operator manuals for various machines and robot cells. When I started to work full time, my responsibilities shifted to purchasing parts and equipment for our machines, processed small orders, coordinated freight for small and large jobs. Eventually, I handed over the purchasing responsibilities to a coworker and continued to be a programmer with my own projects.

As an Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) Technician, I was a member of a team that disposed of explosive ordnance from Fort Leonard Wood and the surrounding area. I worked with Law Enforcement and Range Operations to assist hazard mitigation. I also instructed other service members, police officers, and local civilians about unexploded ordnance safety and procedures. This also includes advising and mentoring Military Police and K-9 Units on effective vehicle and personnel searches. As a leader, I developed training to maintain my subordinates with 100% proficiency with EOD tools, procedure, and policies. I was trusted to be my organization's authority on drug testing policies and testing. I fostered my organization's relationship with Missouri University of Science and Technology to further educate the public on the role of unexploded ordnance.

Deployed as a member of a team to Afghanistan from 2011 to 2012. I conducted over 200 combat patrols in Afghanistan which lead to the safety of service members and local national personnel. I was also recognized for excellent performance and awarded an Army Commendation Medal. While deployed our organization earned the Valorous Unit Award and Meritorious Unit Citation.
