I understand that coming to counselling can bring with it mixed thoughts and emotions – often a little uncertainty and anxiety combined with a sense of relief. My goal is to make sure that everyone I work with feels safe and respected in counselling while developing their confidence to consider and explore a different way of living and being. Clients experience a clinical approach that is flexible, focused and crafted to meet their individual needs and circumstances. My manner is engaging, straightforward and gently challenging as needed – an approach that builds resilience and encourages permanent change persisting long after counselling finishes. I practice short term Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) with individuals, couples and families across a wide range of presenting problems. My specific clinical interests include:• anxiety and depression (including managing low mood)• current, historic and complex trauma (including work-related trauma)• loss, grief and bereavement • changed life circumstances • workplace issues• self-defeating or unwanted habits and behaviour• transition into retirement
