About Garry Atkinson
One thing I’ve found to be true of all cultures, no matter where I have been in the world-we thrive when we are connected with one another. Effectively communicating with others is one of my greatest passions. I love to learn about others, listen to understand, and share my knowledge In a way that best serves my audience. The foundation of my career is working with professionals in the textile industry to develop global standards, and to educate people on how to conduct test methods. That experience has gifted me with an appreciation of different cultures, personality types, and walks of life. I cherish the opportunity to build relationships, learn from and help others. In my profession and in my design business, I regularly conduct informational calls with customers in order to provide them with the best solutions. Technical writing is a skill that I’ve honed over the years, as I’m aware that giving clear instructions translates well across languages. My passion for clear communication continues to lead me to observe, sharpen my knowledge, and teach in a variety of methods. I’ve Illustrated and written books, and I'm currently writing my first novel. As a designer, artist and writer, I see the importance of communicating in conversation, visually, and written. While on hiatus from PhD in Textile Technology Management, and recently becoming a new father, my perspective has changed.I’ve recently decided to combine my gift for communication, experience in the textile industry, and a passion for technology with an education in Sales Development and grow my career. Being an effective communicator is one of my strongest points. I find that being a positive thinking, empathetic, and creative person leads to the growth that we all strive for. I'm looking forward to meeting and learning about you!
