Garry George is Senior Director, Climate Strategy and leads the Clean Energy Initiative at National Audubon Society. Audubon’s Climate Report at https://climate.audubon.org reveals that 389 species of N. American birds may go extinct if warming reaches 3 degrees Celsius above pre-industrial levels. Climate change is the biggest threat to birds. He represents Audubon in federal, state and local clean energy siting and transmission planning, federal permitting policies, and individual projects for onshore and offshore wind, solar and transmission. For 2020, he served as Chair of the Board of Renewable Energy Wildlife Institute ww.rewi.org and is a member of Avian Solar Work Group www.aviansolar.org working with industry on research and technology to understand and resolve utility-scale solar/avian issues and serves on the Regional Wildlife Scientific Collaboration www.rwsc.org for offshore wind in the Atlantic.. When not spending time with his 10-year old grandson, Garry goes bird watching around the world to add to his life list of over 7,600 species. Garry is based in Los Angeles, California.
