I have been working as a Wastewater and Environmental Engineer for almost 40 years since graduating from the Engineering School, University of Canterbury in 1976. Through that time I have worked for three consulting engineering companies in New Zealand and the UK, the majority of these years being with Beca, based in Christchurch and now in Auckland. I absolutely love my consulting engineering and project leadership role and take great satisfaction in all the environmental improvements we have enabled through the projects I have been involved in.I have a strong interest in "giving back" to my profession and to society at large, so I have been and am still active at governance level - as Board member and Officer in several organisations. These include Water NZ, IPENZ, Oxfam NZ in New Zealand and Water Environment Federation based in Washington DC, USA. This service has enabled me to contribute my technical, management and strategic planning skills, while at the same time building a broad network of NZ and global contacts and friends.
