I studied a B-Tech National Diploma in Music Technology course at Northampton College. This qualification will help me to achieve my ultimate aim, which is to be a freelance producer and sound engineer. I have previously studied AS level Music and Music Tech so I have some understanding of commercial studio. This improved as I continued the course. I have had experience tracking and completing mix down on full multi-track recordings of both full band and acoustic tracks. I have also used the stereo pair (x,y) technique to record tracks. I have also been a part of a classical recording, so I have some experience in that field of the industry. The sound was captured using the Middle and Side technique, and spaced cardiod mics to reinforce the quieter sounds. I have now completed the course and achieved a DDD* grade. Another field I have gained experience in is live sound. I am comfortable using both digital and analogue desks and rigging up a variety of different setups. In addition to this I am a confident performer and arranger.Currently in the process of creating a website to promote my business as a freelance producer.
