He followed this with the ensemble romance WHEN LOVE COMES (“Sexuality saturates the screen in this love story bohemian in both form and spirit, inspirational and deeply moving” Sundance FF, “Go for broke performances blistering exchanges” Variety). In 2022 the 4K digitisation of Jack Be Nimble preceded LA-based Altered Innocence picking it up for States-wide distribution which coincided with New York's Museum of Modern Art independently programming it ("A lost classic... trans-sensitive themes") in their Summer tentpole series Horror: Messaging the Monstrous. NY Times called it "The Find" of the festival. Maxwell was flown to NYC to introduce the film, then went on to Los Angeles where Rosanna Arquette joined him to celebrate Alexis at the American Cinematheque. The film's success continues with the Brooklyn Horror Film Festival opening their 2022 season with it and MoMA film curators Caryn Coleman and Ron Magliozzi doing a 1-hr podcast about the film.Garth has also directed 50 hours of primetime TV drama, including many 1hr episodes of iconic fantasy/action shows "Xena Warrior Princess", "Hercules The Legendary Journeys" and "Legend of The Seeker". In Australia Garth directed shows for Foxtel ("SLiDE"), ABC ("Crownies"), and Channel Nine ("Rescue Special Ops" "The Strip" "Tricky Business"). He created and coproduced 12 hour satirical series "Rude Awakenings" starring Danielle Cormack for TVNZ about gentrification. His shorts include award-winning "Beyond Gravity" and "Naughty Little Peeptoe".
