I am retired after a long career in the gas industry, I now try and do as much voluntary work as possible. Before we moved over to Rugby in July 2013, I was involved with Sandwell Council as an Ambassador and also with one of the local CCG's where I worked with the staff on their End of Life project becoming chair and vice chair on a couple of their committees, however, moving out of the borough meant I gave up these roles, much to my disappointment.Since moving over to Rugby I have been involved with Coventry and Rugby CCG as a Patient representative, working with them to develop their integrated working with Social Services some years ago. I stepped down as Co-Chair of Carers Trust Heart of England three years ago. Currently I am a Patient Partner with my local NHS Trust, a fund raiser and speaker with the Air Ambulance Service and a Trustee of a local Almshouse charity. I also represent a number of Local Authorities as an Independent Person My interest is prodominanly Dementia and End of Life but I am also keen to be involved in other areas of health and social care, with particluar focus on working with the CCG developing their patient involvement services.More importantly I am a happily married with two daughters and five grandchildren.
