My goal is to help employers maintain an atmosphere of responsibility, trust, and Worklife enjoyment using positive human resource management principles.I offer human resources and labour relations advice and guidance; management education and training in a variety of topics (performance appraisal, absenteeism management, interviewing and selection techniques); competent and affordable human resource management support.Clients have ranged from large, private sector employers to smaller-sized employers who do not have dedicated HR expertise in-house.

HEABC provides human resources and labour relations support and is the provincial bargaining agent for health care employers in British Columbia. Assignments during my 20 years with HEABC included client groups in the Vancouver Island, East Kootenays, Vancouver, and Fraser Valley regions.A Senior Consultant, provided knowledge HR expertise and trends; and provided HR generalist advice and guidance in all aspects of employee engagement; Coached and guides employers in union-management relations; supported performance management issues: advocated for employers in matters of grievance and arbitration; Bargained several individual and provincial agreements.Developed and delivered educational material and seminars dealing with absences, selection, grievance handling, performance appraisal, orientation, discipline, and discharge. Learning opportunities were provided to large provincial audiences and individual need specific in house seminars.

Provided a broad range of HR services to client groups at the Kitchener Waterloo Hospital: a 600-bed acute care general hospital with 2,000 employees in a non-unionized workforce.

As Director coordinated all of the human resource functions for a work force of approximately 1,200 professional, technical, and service employees, including recruitment (local and overseas), human resources administration, labour relations and negotiation services.The Board administered the King Edward VII Acute Care Hospital, St Brendan's Psychiatric Facility and Long Term Care facilities for the Island's population of approximately 50,000 residents and tourists.
