Irelands most experienced software trainer, providing professional services in software development since 2000. I have delivered over a thousand training events, authored over forty training courses and mentored developers at all levels of experience across a range of industries. In the beginning I mostly taught C++ to C coders, then Java to C++ coders, then C# to Java coders and eventually JavaScript to everyone. These days I specialise in server-side coding using Kotlin / Spring Boot and client slide coding using TypeScript / Angular. The majority of my time is spent designing and delivering induction and retraining programs for groups of developers. I do this both locally and internationally, and also mentor new trainers in doing the same. I am a prolific contributor to, and organiser of, conferences and user groups. I have participated in ACCU, GOTO, KotlinConf, RebelCon, NIDevConf, Functional Kats etc... and am a co-organiser of the Belfast BASH and Kotlin Users Group. Outside of work I am a martial arts instructor, with certifications in multiple systems, teaching at both children's and adult classes and delivering specialist seminars.
