I produce a wide range of illustration mainly in digital form including graphics, vector, web, image manipulation, and retouching.

The Core Group in Troy Michigan has been my home base studio and my local representative in Detroit where I have specialized in digital technical illustration for the auto industry and graphic art for non-automotive clients. I also participate in retouching projects for a variety of clients and create editorial illustrations and graphics.

Rendering I: Re-designed this course to reflect the modern demands of illustration. Rendering I focuses on drawing and interpreting tone, light, and shadow effectively while learning to render a wide range of subjects using traditional media. This course incorporates Adobe Photoshop as a support tool for scanning and color correction..Illustration Fundamentals: I created a new course text including 9 assignments on perspective followed by 4 assignments on basic illustration media/techniques. Course assignments can be viewed at http://illustrationfundamentals.blogspot.com/Digital Illustration I: This course introduces Adobe Illustrator CS5 and focuses on pen path basics, importing images, creating and managing type and basic illustration using blends, gradients, and the gradient mesh tool.Concept Illustration: I designed Concept Illustration as a new required course within the MACA program. A blend of digital and traditional illustration, this Concept Illustration focuses on interpreting client directions and concepts and creating illustrations that effectively solve visualization challenges posed to students. I am a entering year twelve teaching illustration at Macomb Community College. The students have been awesome and we really enjoy expanding our skill as artists together.

Nationally Represented Product Illustrator and Graphic Artist 1996 to present. I am represented nationally by American Artists in New York and The Roland Group in Virginia. Project commissions have been completed for Coca Cola, Pepsi, GQ Magazine, REI Outfitters,Ford, Chrysler, Mattel, among others. I have also produced instructional illustration for academic publishers such as Houghton Mifflin Harcourt. Accounts also include medical illustrations for hospitals and medical practices.

I have worked as an independent artist for two decades and have participated in numerous exhibitions. Exhibitions include the 2011 Temple Award Winners Alumni Show at Alma College and exhibitions at the Scarab Club, and the Michigan chapter of the Colored Pencil Society.

I worked part time assisting in creating specialized graphics for the auto industry.

I have enjoyed teaching design at Oakland Community College for two years. It was a very rewarding experience.

I worked with Prestige as an imaging artist for Chrysler producing cutting edge vehicle illustrations and other related materials using Maya, Keyshot, Adobe Photoshop, and Adobe Illustrator. I decided to return to freelancing late in 2013 and am developing some new sources of work in the publishing and licensing area.

Currently an instructor of Advanced Photoshop, Advanced Design Processes, and Adobe Illustrator. I have the pleasure of assisting advanced students in the program with regard to developing portfolio quality work and in designing challenging assignments to develop their skills. We work together to create professional looking print ready art.Advanced Photoshop: I am developing several projects for students including complex morphing and compositing assignments based on actual ad campaigns.

I have participated in the semi annual advisory board meetings at the Macomb Warren campus representing industry professionals for a review of course curriculum and school Media and Communications programs.

Digital Illustration: I taught two courses: VC 130 and CD 320 which featured Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop that introduced and basic concepts of 2D and 3D product design.These courses also included instructional components in typography and basic graphic design.

This company continued as an extension of McNamara Associates from 1991 to 1996. I continued in my role as a senior illustrator and graphic artist and was I was responsible for handling a variety of illustration assignments and campaigns for national corporations.

I started in the industry with McNamara in 1981 as an apprentice preparing artwork.I learned my craft well and rose the position of senior illustrator. As a senior illustrator and graphic artist, I was responsible for handling a variety of illustration assignments and campaigns for national corporations. I also held positions in the photographic department and as a type setter.
