Vp Southern RegionRobec/Interact Distributing Jun 1981 - Aug 1994My role as VP Southern Region had me in charge of a Technology regional distribution operation (4 branches) that delivered $60M in revenue, covered 15 states, and sold over 8,000 sku’s of inventory, a staff of 75 people and 32 sales reps with responsibilities to P&L, full sales and marketing management including supervision of 5 Branch Managers. Products sold included a wide range of computers and peripheral equipment, networking and WAN hardware, software, storage products. Products were sold to authorized resellers in all aspects of PC channel distribution: mass merchant, retailer, systems integrator, VAR and OEM. Vendors represented included: IBM, Unisys, Toshiba, Acer, Okidata, Genicom, APC, Racal, Seagate, Maxtor, Samsung, Novell, Mitsubishi, Fujitsu, Dataproducts, etc.Sales Management results included 5x consecutive years of national "Branch of the Year" status, and two years into the Inc 500 listings for sales growth.In this role, I was significantly involved in vendor negotiations, go-to-market strategy planning and full sales force management and marketing plan creation for most of the Channel/Reseller efforts.
