From leaving school I undertook an ECITB apprenticeship in welding and fabrication which has taken me both national and international. I attained multiple weld codings in a range of metals processes and thicknesses to ASME9 & BSEN standards insurance backed by Lloyds & DNV I have expended 24 years in this industry in various sectors and worked both on and offshore. I have worked In a multitude of environments On top tier COMAH sites, DSEAR areas inclusive of EX zone 0 I am proficient at working at height and high risk confined space where the atmosphere could pose an immediate danger to life. I have worked on high profile projects where I had to pass stringent government security vetting. During my career I have achieved an extensive array of skills and certifications inclusive of NEBOSH, IOSH, IRATA where I achieved level 2 certification with in excess of 5000 logged hours on the ropes. I was rope rescue trained and have an active first aid at work certificate, I have had to utilise these skills during a real medical event where I was awarded for my intervention from Sabic. I am certified in drugs and alcohol testing in multiple methods and test kits. In 2022 I retrained in health and safety where I have worked for some of the industry leading companies inclusive of Doosan Babcock, Altrad and currently Wood. To date I have been contractor safety lead and executed in excess of ten outages injury free. I have good communication and people skills and try and promote a positive safety culture to all levels. My current duties are ensuring compliance with the HASAWA, company procedures and CDM regs, Tool box talks, daily briefs, inductions, audits and inspections, composition and monitoring of safety training records, participation and remedy of hazard observations, composition and review of RAMS. I have only just scratched the surface of my career in safety and would be open to discuss opportunity’s that may assist with my progression.
